So this article is my boss’s request. I was ready to move on from the series till the time for the review came but, he wanted me to dedicate an article to this anime. So well, I shall oblige; this also gives me a chance of trying something different so why not? Well, MobuSeka of course refers to The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs; so let’s talk about it.
It may not be as clear right now since the anime is in very early stages but, MobuSeka is really different from a normal isekai. Of course, I am here to explain to y’all why it is so good. So I divided all of what I had to say into 2 points. I have a lot to say, so let’s get started right away.
No no, not the Dio’s “Za Warudoo”; I am talking about the world design of MobuSeka. The world is a mess, right? Leon himself says that the world of that Otome Game is messed up multiple times. Be it the societal structure or the physical design of the world itself, it is all pretty weird.
The world combines fantasy and sci-fi elements in a very interesting way. There was once this advanced civilization before humans but, their equipment looks like magic to humans because it is so different. But at the same time, actual magic also does exist in the world. Now, the magic system has not been explored that much right now but I hope to see it explored in the future. World Building is really crazy in the latter half of the series though; I won’t spoil anything but it is pretty insane.
The societal structure in MobuSeka is a mess. I don’t have a problem with women having power but, the nobles of the country are incompetent and rotten. Most of them are just feeding off of their ancestor’s accomplishments. This society gives rise to some really detestable characters and I like the series for that.
The Protagonist Himself
Let’s talk about my Leon himself. He is the biggest reason I like MobuSeka. In short, he is a douchebag in the best way possible. He is hated by a lot of people and for a good reason, more than that he has the strength to support his cockiness. Also, he is kind in the weirdest possible way; sure he likes to see people suffer but he goes out of his way to protect his few true friends.
He doesn’t hesitate at all to call bullshit where he sees it. He is also a very curious MC which is very good because it helps a lot in world-building. A great way of writing a protagonist all along, he really keeps MobuSeka rolling.
That is all for now, I tried something new with another one of these articles. I really love MobuSeka, and man the series keeps getting better and better. I dont at what point the anime will end, but it should be around the Pirate attack part? I dont know but still, we’ll see how it goes. With that said though, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
