- Quick Introduction to Under Ninja
- Details about the anime adaptation
- Why should or should not you check out this series
I talked about this series quite a while ago back when the anime was just announced. Of course, we didn’t have much info back then so I mostly ended up talking about the manga. But, the anime recently got quite a few updates so I thought this would be a great chance to revisit Under Ninja!
So welcome back to another edition of Put This on Your Radar, the series where we talk about the upcoming animes that caught our interest. Today we are taking a look at Under Ninja. I quite liked the concept of the manga and even read it for a while. I definitely think a series like this will shine more in an anime adaptation. But, my thoughts come later, let’s cover the news first!
About Under Ninja Anime…
So the anime of course will be based on the action comedy manga of the same name by Hanazawa Kengo. The manga has been serialized in the weekly Young Jump Magazine since July 2018 and is still ongoing. The ninth volume of the manga was shipped recently on the 6th of January. That is enough about the manga, let’s move on to the anime.
The anime will be made by Tezuka Productions and will have music by Pony Canyon. The production will be led by Satoshi Kuwahara, who worked on How Not to Summon a Demon Lord S2 before this. The official website by Kodansha basically lists all of the staff positions. I can’t list them all here so check them over there if you want to. Under Ninja is scheduled to come out in October, that is, the fall season of 2023.
My Thoughts on Under Ninja
So first and foremost, it is kind of weird that we have no VA announcements yet. Kodansha revealed basically all of the staff and yet we don’t even know who the main cast will be. Also by the time of staff announcements, animes generally have a teaser to show, but Under Ninja so far hasn’t gotten any teasers. I wonder why.
I don’t want to be negative before the anime even airs but, it is being made by Tezuka Prod, who have become kind of famous for their work on mediocre animes at this point. Not just anime, mid adaptations I should say too. Not saying Under Ninja will be like that too, cause Tezuka Prod does have some bangers but, their recent track record has been kind of worrying. I don’t wanna sound sour about an anime that isn’t even out yet; I just want Under Ninja to get some justice because it is actually a pretty cool manga.
That is all for now. I do have some concerns regarding this adaptation but please, I’d love to be proven wrong by all means. I still look forward to checking this anime out though cause the manga is pretty interesting. And I suggest you do the same, and at least give the anime a chance when it comes out. Let me know what you think in the comments though, I will take my leave here, See ya!
