Welcome back to the 9th edition of our weekly art series. Just 2 weeks left in this year now…. Man, sometimes it really feels like this year passed really fast. It has been about a month now since almost everything went back to normal in my country but, it feels like it just happened yesterday. Take this series, for example, it feels like I just did the first article even though I wrote the first article in this series all the way back in September.
My personal babbling aside; we have some more really awesome art this week. So here are 5 artworks that really caught our eyes this week. The list is in random order as always, so let’s get started.
Wakasa Imaushi (Tokyo Revengers) by minimal.kia
Feels like there hasn’t been a single week without some really good Tokyo Revengers art surfacing after the series became popular. And well, I can’t exactly blame people for it. Tokyo Revengers has this really good character design and I can understand why people like to draw them. So you won’t know Wakasa here if you’re an anime-only, he appears very late in the story. But he looks really cool and this art does justice to that. The shading and the strokes in this art are very eye-catching.
Albedo (Genshin Impact) by milito3.art
Ah yes, the chalk prince himself. Albedo is one of those characters who don’t have an interesting personality but their backstory is so interesting and connected to the game’s lore, you can’t help but like them. The recent Dragonspine event was awesome; it had some really thought-provoking stuff. My Genshin knowledge aside, I have featured this artist many times before as well and I love their art. Ryoko and Tenchi (Tenchi Muyou!) by jgeorgedraws
I have not watched Tenchi Muyou, I knew it existed but I had no idea how it looked. Well, thanks to this art now I know what 2 of the characters look like at least. I like the art though; traditional art is rare these days so like to see it. I don’t know what sorts of colors were used to make this art but the color gradients look really nice and the light effects are well done. Original Character (I Think) by alty_sama
I am going, to be honest here; I can’t identify this character for the love of god… that is why I think it is an OC. Why is it here then? Because it is indeed anime art and because I liked it that much is enough. I mean look at this art, the slight hints of red and blue look so good on the overall black and white art. I love it when people use colors skillfully in monotone arts. This is a really good example of that. You can check out the original post here and alty_sama on IG here.
Akaza (Demon Slayer) by ygartprism
Ah yes, Akaza the character who I presume everyone is currently mad at. I won’t say what he did because that will be treading into spoiler territory and this article isn’t right for that. I love this art; I like the idea of having him on one side of the page, ready to lunge. The colored tattoos on his body stand out a lot and it looks awesome. I am assuming that this is digital color since the art looks very clean and I can’t see strokes. I don’t know much so I could be wrong. But it looks so nice though. That is it for now. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments and leave any and all recommendations you may have down there as well. Stay tuned for more content because it is going to be review city really soon with the season coming to an end. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
