So welcome back to another edition of our weekly art series. How many weeks has it been since we started out this series now? I seriously forgot, let me look it up quickly…..ok, this is the 12th edition of our art series. I didn’t realize it has been so long but, well in a few weeks it will be a whole year since I started this job. Man time flies by quick as I always say.
So well my usual babbling aside, we have another 5 pieces of art we liked this week. IG is full of so much great art man and it is difficult selecting just 5 pieces every week yet, we still try our best to shout out as many artists as we can. So here are yet another 5 pieces that caught our eyes this week.
Ulquiorra (Bleach) by zaikwoo
Speaking of eye-catching, this art by zaikwoo is exactly that; eye-catching. The bright green catches your eyes and then you see all the details in black and white. Ulquiorra is one of the most famous characters from Bleach and I am pretty sure that his fight with Ichigo is still etched into the minds of all Bleach fans. I just love this art. Mikey (Tokyo Revengers) by mevu_h
Ahh yes, anime onlies may not be familiar with this look of Mikey yet. Don’t worry guys, you will get to see him like this soon. I won’t go too much into spoiler territory but that is basically a future version of Mikey. He looks like he has seen some shit and trust me, he has. This art is just great. I love the colors. I love how Mikey’s hairs look in this; all the details down to his tattoos are so well done. Check out the original post here and mevu_h on IG here.
Zenitsu (Demon Slayer) by lainahs.art
This is a clip so I can’t put up an image here sadly but, I have my usual question. How the heck do you get watercolors to look this good? Whenever I try it, they look so dead while in this clip these watercolors look so bright. Not just that, the artist also shaded using watercolors that is just amazing. Serious Zenitsu is always a treat and this art is no different. This is one of those things that I’d love to have on my room’s wall. Check out the clip here and lainahs.art on IG here.
Multiple characters by friky_draws
So this is a really unique art. It basically depicts all of the new-gen shonen protagonists. It has Yuuji from Jujutsu Kaisen, Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, Deku from BNHA, Asta from Black Clover and Boruto. I really like this art style. This art reminds me of the art style used in some of the old cartoons like first Ben 10 and all. This really makes you think that what would happen if all of them were in the same anime. Multiple characters (Demon Slayer) by david_._freeman
This art basically is like a summary of the first episode of the Demon Slayer Entertainment District arc. It shows a lot of scenes from the first episode of the anime and it is not spoiler-heavy at all. Not that a lot happened in the first episode but, you know what I mean.
