Tokyo Revengers – What to expect from this Spring 2021 anime?
Spring 2021 is going to be a freaking awesome season one of the many anime coming next season is Tokyo Revengers. Tokyo Revengers is an action/Shounen anime. In this article, I aim to provide what we know about the anime and what we can expect from this anime. I will hopefully get to do a detailed review of the anime after it is over but, that is for later. Firstly, here is what we know about the anime for now:
What do we know about Tokyo Revengers?
As I said earlier, it is a Shounen anime based on the manga of the same name. It follows the story of Hanagaki Takemichi whose ex-girlfriend is killed by a gang called Tokyo Manji Gang. He suddenly ends up traveling 12 years in the past where he still was in a relationship and realizes he now has a chance to save her, he decides to join the gang and rise through its rank to prevent her murder in the future.
The plot is very Shounen-ish only difference being, it is based around a gang. Gang stories are rather rare in mainstream Shounen anime. It will be very exciting to see how the story progresses. From what I have heard from my manga reader friends, the manga is very good. It is one of the anime that I was excited about from the moment it was announced because I heard good things about its manga so much. Now, what interests me is the fact that how it will be different from the classic gangster stories because it is anime and anime always have their twists and interpretations on classic story stereotypes. I am very excited about Tokyo Revengers.
Animation Studio
Tokyo Revengers anime is going to be made by LIDENFILMS. They have made a lot of anime—most notable of them being (according to me) the Initial D: Legends movies. I had my complaints with the movies, but the movies’ animations were chef’s kiss good. So if the animations are anywhere close to Initial D ones, they will look amazing. I can’t fully guarantee the quality of animations though, because a few LIDEN anime had very average animations, but I really do hope they make it like the Initial D movies because Tokyo Revengers deserves it for sure. I am sure it is going to be one of the biggest releases of this year if it is done properly and with love.
So this is all I have for now. You can check out the PV of Tokyo Revengers here. It looks absolutely phenomenal, and the opening sounds amazing. I really do hope they keep up this production quality in the actual anime as well. Tokyo Revengers is coming out on 11th April. You should really watch this anime. The PV gives off those intense Shounen vibes, so if you are into that kinda stuff (I sure as hell am), you will love this anime for sure. So for now, this is all I have.
