The Quintessential Quintuplets is a surprisingly good harem anime. I started watching it randomly because I heard its name so much and I really liked it. Mostly because I went in expecting a normal harem anime but, The Quintessential Quintuplets turned out so much better than just that. So I am very happy about this series getting a sequel.
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie was announced quite a while ago but, it sadly slipped under my radar so I missed it. We got some more information and a new trailer for the movie recently so I decided this might be the best time to talk about it once again. Let’s go through everything we know about the movie so far first off.
What do we know about The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie?
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie was announced all the way back when the airing of season 2 finished last year. Back then, not much was revealed about the movie, heck we didn’t even know it was gonna be a movie. All we knew back then was that there is a sequel for The Quintessential Quintuplets in the works.
So as you may have guessed from the previous point, The Quintessential Quintuplets movie is a sequel to the second anime season. The movie will once again be animated by Bibury Studio. Bibury did seasons 1 and 2 as well. While their animations are really bad, they gave the anime a really good pacing and direction. So I have no qualms here.
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie is set to release in the spring season of 2022. The currently slated release date is of 20th May. You can check out the trailer for the movie here.
Expectations
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie may be the last part of the anime adaptation. The manga ended back in 2020 and it isn’t particularly long. It is just 122 chapters long and season 2 of the anime is covered till chapter 86 of the manga. That said though, the anime has been going kind of its own way with a lot of original scenes and of course, cuts. Many people speculate that the anime may have an original ending.
I personally am up for the original ending too. A lot of people didn’t like the manga ending and while I don’t hate it, I’d love to how the anime ends anyway. Yes, it is very sad but, it is highly like that The Quintessential Quintuplets movie will be the last part of The Quintessential Quintuplets anime journey. Always sad to see an anime you like to come to an end.
Again, I am really hoping that The movie is released in my country so that I don’t have to wait for the Blu-ray version to drop for reviewing it.
