Sweet Reincarnation looks like the Isekai Pharmacy anime but for sweet shop instead. And you know what? I’d be willing to check it out even though it’ll probably be mid.

What do we know about Sweet Reincarnation?
The anime will be based on the LN of the same name by Koryuu Nozomu and Shuri Yasuyuki. As you may imagine from the title, it is about a guy who wanted to become the world’s no. 1 pâtissier. But couldn’t because he died. He then gets reincarnated and decides to continue his dream from his previous life. Pretty much what it says on the tin.
The anime will be directed by Kazuya Naoyuki, who has worked on a lot of anime in the past. And it will be made by SynergySP Studios, who did the later seasons of Initial D, Beyblade Zero G, etc. Murase Ayumu and Hondo Kaede will be starring as the main cast of the show. We don’t have a confirmed release date yet but we do know it’ll come out sometime in July. You can check out the tease PV for it here.

My Thoughts
Ok, can we address how funny it is that the protagonist is literally named Pastry? I was going over the names of the characters in this series and they are all named after desserts or something like that. That is hilarious. See, this is why I am certain that Sweet Reincarnation will be rather entertaining if nothing else. Seriously, go check out the character names, I guarantee it’ll get a chuckle out of you.
I am not particularly worried about the quality of this anime. Partially, that is because I know this will be a rather low-budget project. And because they picked a decent studio and director. The main cast looks pretty good too, with Hondo Kaede having done iconic roles like Maple from Bofuri, Echidna from Yuusha Yamemasu, and Eiko from Ya Boy Kongming. Eiko is my favorite among those roles. So yeah, I am quite optimistic about this anime.
