Well well well, we finally have the 4th season for the long-running series, Overlord. A lot of people were hyped for season 4, and a lot of people dont like the series. I personally am in somewhat of a middle ground between those 2 groups. I sometimes really enjoy this series while sometimes it feels extra if you know what I mean. Personally, I didn’t like the season 3 ending but, I still gave season 4 a chance to what they’re up to this once.
Overlord is a series that needs no introduction at this point as the LN and anime both have been running for a while now. So we’ll just get started off with my views on it. Remember, these are all my personal thoughts; I am not saying you should feel the same way about the series. With that said, let’s get started.
What do I think of Overlord IV so far?
At the time of writing, 2 episodes of Overlord IV are out and I’ve watched both of them. I have not read the LN so I am not aware of what is coming so my thoughts may very well change as the season goes on. I will be basing my views purely on the 2 episodes released so there will be minor spoilers ahead.
Both the episodes released were pretty entertaining to be perfectly honest. We of course pick up a bit after season 3, Ainz/Momoga has his whole country now. He’s not really sure how to run a country so he left the important governing matters to Albedo and Demiurge. He of course is concerned about his country’s safety, so we see Ainz taking steps towards that in these episodes.
Overlord has always had some really good world-building and this season definitely continues that. We get to see how other countries and their nobles are reacting to the formation of the Sorcerer Country. Albedo goes to another country to improve their relations with them, while Ainz offers his support to the adventurers guild while making a crazy deal with them.
And of course, Overlord is also full of people wanting to defeat Ainz, those fools have no idea how strong he is or how outclassed they are. So we once again see a lot of people plotting to kill him and destroy the sorcerer’s country. Well, good luck is all I am going to say. I don’t think any of those can even match up to one of Ainz’s maids.
Conclusion
So yeah, as I said earlier, I’d rather wait for the season to end before forming a solid opinion on Overlord IV. Purely judging from the first 2 episodes, the show should be good. If we get to see more world-building and Ainz securing his country further, I’m down for that. It should be fun. And of course, I love the new opening theme. This series has always had really good openings.
Well, those were my thoughts on Overlord IV, let me know yours in the comments. With that said though, I will take my leave here. See ya!
