First of all, congratulations to Studio Bones for completing its 25 years in the industry. Over the years, they have delivered some really iconic animes like Fullmetal Alchemist, Noragami, Bungou Stray Dogs, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, etc. They are really high in my personal ranking of studios. Now, a lot of people don’t know but they also made Eureka 7. Why do I bring Eureka 7 up? Cause after almost a whole decade, Bones is making an original mecha anime, Metallic Rouge.
So welcome back to another news article! Today let’s talk about Metallic Rouge. The new original anime by Studio Bones meant to commemorate their 25th-anniversary celebration. We don’t have a lot of info on it yet, but I will cover everything we do know. So let’s get started!
What do we know about Metallic Rouge?
So obviously, this is a sci-fi action anime meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Studio Bones. It is an original anime, meaning it has no source material. There was this Fuji TV anime lineup live stream on the 22nd that revealed this anime and the main staff. And we do have some big names on the staff.
The anime will be directed by Motonobu Hori, he has worked on a lot of anime like MHA, Spirited Away, Psycho-Pass, Gurren Lagann, etc. Toshizou Nemoto will be doing the script, famous for their work on Steins; Gate and Toshiro Kawamoto will be doing the character designs, famous for their work on Cowboy Bebop. That is all we know for now but, that is a really good main staff. Wish we got more info on the setting and the plot of the series but, this is all we have for now. Oh and, the anime is scheduled for release in January 2024!

What do I think?
I am not really sure what to think about Metallic Rouge just yet, On one side, I am happy that Studio Bones is doing another mecha anime after all this while. We seriously need more good mecha animes in the market aside from Gundam. On the other side, I am kind of concerned that this anime may not turn out to be as good as we are hoping.
So yeah, I am kind of conflicted about this anime. It is not that I don’t trust Studio Bones, it is just that I need a little more info before I can completely be in on it 100%. Now, the anime is quite a while away from release so I am hoping that it turns out to be a banger and they utilize this time properly. I am excited about it but, I will make sure to keep my expectations in check.
