Mappa New Original Anime Movie Announced!
Mappa is one of the best studios out there. It has become massively popular recently thanks to their awesome work on Jujutsu Kaisen and Attacks on Titan. Not just that, they have some awesome anime coming up like Attack on Titan last season and Chainsaw Man.
They are just amazing; they are working on so many things at once. They are doing an original anime Re-main this season too. It is because of this that people have a common misconception that Mappa overworks their employees but, that is not true. They have different teams working on different projects and their studio management is just amazing. Believe me guys; working conditions in Japan are rather good.
But enough about that, we are here to talk about the new original movie. So let’s get started
What do we know about the new movie?
On Sunday (27th) Mappa had their 10th-anniversary event. They announced this movie called “Alice to Therese no MaboroshiKojou” (The Illusion Factory of Alice and Therese). They announced its staff members and also unveiled a teaser visual and trailer for the movie.
As for the plot, not much is revealed yet of course. There are a few hints at the plot in the teaser but it’s nothing much. You can check out the teaser right here. The teaser really does look awesome.
Expectations
Here comes the hard part. Putting up expectations for original anime is never easy. Well, my expectations for Vivy and Jouran were spot on so I will still give it a shot.
In all honesty, I have fairly high expectations of this anime for 2 reasons. The first is Mappa of course because of look at those amazing animations in the teaser. The amount of work they put in those animations is just crazy. The second reason is the fact that we have Okada Mari on the direction and screenplay. If you don’t know who she is, she did scripts for AnoHana, Darker than Black, and some other really good anime.
So we have Mappa’s animations along with Okada Mari. I think this movie will be really good. Judging from the trailer and the type of stories Okada-sensei usually does, this movie will also cut deep so be prepared. I won’t put an expected release date this once because it’s a movie and movies can literally come out any time of the year.
