In this mecha drought, we mecha fans will take anything and everything we can get our hands on lol. We were recently treated with The Witch from Mercury and that was sweet. But it looks like Bandai Namco wants to treat us some more with Kyoukai Senki: Kyokkou no Souki.
Just like Gundam, this series is also made by Bandai Namco but it’s nowhere as reputed. Well, it has only one season so far too so that doesn’t help much. But here we are, on the cusp of another season of mecha awesomeness.

What do we know about Kyoukai Senki: Kyokkou no Souki?
This anime was announced a while back and I did cover the announcement as well. We finally have some new details on this anime and that is what we’re here to take a look at today. As mentioned earlier, a bunch of Gundam staff is working on this anime. A lot of the staff members are in fact, from the recent Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. We did not know what studio will be making this anime though, and turn out, it is multiple studios. Studio Naya, Wish, and Asahi Productions will all be working on this anime.
The anime is set to release on the 10th of August 2023 and it will be premiered on Bandai Spirits’ official YouTube channel, which is pretty awesome. The opening theme for the show is “Yobu Koe ga Naru Hougaku e” by Organic Call and the ending theme is “I’ll Be There” by the idol group, LINKL PLANET. The anime is supposed to be just 6 episodes long.

What do I think?
Now, I know that the original Kyoukai Senki anime was not that good. It wasn’t bad, it was just mid. This one though, I have a good feeling about since Witch from Mercury was amazing and a lot of the same staff is working on this anime too. Well, if nothing, Kyoukai Senki: Kyokkou no Souki will air on YouTube so you don’t have to spend any money to experience it. Seriously, airing it on YouTube is a pretty rad move and I commend Bandai Namco for that.
