So as I said in my previous article, there has been a huge influx of anime news in the past few days and I am doing my best to cover them one by one. I was thinking I’d get a little break in the summer season after the busy winter and spring seasons but, that doesn’t look like the case. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been confirmed for Summer 2023 and we even have a release date for it now.
So welcome back to another news article. There will be more news articles after this as I try to cover all the important news bits. But for now, we are talking about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. One of the most anticipated animes of this year for a lot of people. Including me, even. I have decided I won’t comment on Mappa in this article because it’s getting old. So let’s get started.
What do we know about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?
There was this Jujutsu Kaisen presentation on the RED Stage of AnimeJapan 2023. The presentation revealed a whole bunch of details about the upcoming season. All of the main cast from season 1 will be reprising their respective roles. They will be joined by Takehito Koyasu and Anna Nagase will be joining the cast to voice Touji Fushigoro and Riko Amanai respectively.
We do have a few changes to the staff though, most notably, we have a new director Shota Goshozono. The other cast changes are fairly minor but, I am curious to see how the new director takes on this series. Of course, the studio is still Mappa. The anime is confirmed to run for 2 cours or 24 episodes. And finally, the anime will start airing on the 6th of July 2023.
We also got our hands on a new PV, which you can check out here.
What do I think?
Well, there is not much to say here. It is Jujutsu Kaisen, you know it will be entertaining as hell. Looks like we will get to see a young Gojo-sensei in this season and possibly his history with Suguru. So that should be fun to see. I am really excited about the upcoming Shibuya arc of the series. We should see that arc in some capacity this season.
Really looking forward to this season. Maybe we will get to see Okkotsu return as well. Again, please go and watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0 before you dive into this season. Otherwise, you will be more than a little lost. But yeah, all in all, more Jujutsu Kaisen is a good thing, and we are getting a 24-episode season which is even better.
Conclusion
That is all for now. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. I am really excited about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. It is one of my most anticipated animes of this year. Really hope that the new director can follow in the footsteps of the old one. With that said though, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
