Ah yes, HameFura is one of my favorite isekais of all time. It may not be in my personal top 5 but, I still enjoy this series very much. Season 2 is going strong. Fun as always, HameFura is just a joy to watch. It is one of the anime I often use for relieving stress. It is just so perfect for the job.
So alongside season 2, we will apparently have a bit of side material to watch soon as well. There’s this interesting-looking new OVA announced. There were few more interesting details announced with the OVA news so let’s take a look at them one by one.
What do know about the OVA?
On Sunday (18th July), there was this HameFura special program where they announced this OVA. The OVA will give us the childhood story of all the main characters. IT is based on the material from the first volume of the light novel. The OVA is to be shipped along with the 7th Volume of the manga (not light novel) adaptation of HameFura on September 30th.
The other interesting news I mentioned is that the author, Yamaguchi Satoru is penning an original story to be bundled with the 11th volume of the light novel which will be shipped on 20th August. The story will be related to the childhood of the four princes from the 5th episode of season 2. The 5th episode isn’t out yet, it will air on 31st July.
And finally, the last bit of news is that HameFura will have a big special event in Tokyo on 2nd and 3rd April 2022. 2nd will host the female members of the cast and 3rd will host the male members.
Expectations
The OVA’s toned definitely looks to be a bit more on the serious side but you never know. I mean it is Katarina we are speaking of, she can turn serious things into jokes. And she does this unknowingly most of the time too hahaha. So yeah, I am kind of looking forward to this OVA. Maybe it will be serious, maybe it will be funny or most probably it will be both. Only time will tell.
As for the original story, I have no idea what to expect since I haven’t watched episode 5 (of course). I will be Katarina doing something silly again most probably but, I will keep my eyes out for that as well because it looks interesting.
I don’t need to give a release date expectation this once since they confirmed the dates for us. Saves me a little bit of time.
