Saihate no Paladin or The Faraway Paladin was an average isekai overall by all accounts. But, the opening few episodes were undoubtedly one of the best openings to an anime I have seen. The 2nd half of the show was a typical isekai which is sad cause this show has so much potential. Faraway Paladin Season 2 is coming out soon though and hopefully, it will improve on this.
So welcome back to another news article. Today I will be talking about The Faraway Paladin Season 2. I don’t know what most people think about the first season but, I sense potential in this series so I am kind of excited for this 2nd season. Well, let’s talk about all the news first, I will save my thoughts for later on.
What do we know about The Faraway Paladin Season 2?
The official website of the anime revealed a bunch of new info regarding season 2 earlier today (14th April). We got a look at the staff, new cast members, a new teaser visual, and the first PV. The new season is titled ‘King of the Iron Rust Mountain’. Now while the cast is largely the same, the staff is very different since season 2 is being made by a different studio. Season 1 was made by Children’s Playground Entertainment while Season 2 will be made by OLM Studios and Sunrise Beyond.
That means we have a new director, of course, Akira Iwanaga will be directing season 2. That is not all, Shouya Chiba will be joining the cast to voice Adult Will; which is very interesting. What do I think?
As I said, Faraway Paladin is a series with a lot of potential. I still remember the first 4-5 episodes of this series vividly. Now, this is funny because I don’t remember the 2nd half of the series at all. That is how cool the first episodes were. If they somehow manage to recapture the feel of the first few episodes, the 2nd season will be a huge success in my opinion. Season 2 definitely has gotten much better studios working on it so hopefully it is an improvement.
I don’t know where the story goes from here on but, I am guessing that there will be a timeskip of sorts in this season. I say that because we have a new cast member to voice adult Will. Should be interesting to see how all that fits into the overall story.
