I genuinely don’t think any other isekai has surprised me as much as this. I’ve said this many times before and I will say it again, The Faraway Paladin has one of the best intro arcs out there. And that is the level of polish I want The Faraway Paladin Season 2 to try and deliver.
I know that is a tall order but I want the 2nd season to at least try doing something like that. Thanks to the said opening arc, the story has a really good base and some nice world-building. I want the 2nd season to leverage all that in the story.

What do we know about The Faraway Paladin Season 2?
As you may know, the anime will be coming out in the next season, Fall 2023. Recently, we got a release date locked in as well. The first episode of the series will air on 7th October. All of the main cast from the first season are returning to reprise their roles. We have two new additions to the cast in Gou Shinomiya and Kenichiro Matsuda. Yanaginnagi will be performing the opening theme “Meika” and Kotoko will be performing the ending theme “Puzzle” for this season.
Akira Iwanaga is directing the series at OLM Studios and Sunrise Beyond. This is different from the first season, which was made by Children’s Playground Entertainment and directed by Nobuta Yuu. My Thoughts
So I didn’t notice till now that Sunrise Beyond is involved with the production of this anime. That really gives me hope. Sunrise is a well-known studio and their adaptations are always really good. So I hope that season 2 has improvements over season 1, at least when it comes to the production side of things. We also got a nice director for this season, Akira Iwanaga. He previously worked on Kingdom Season 2. Which is pretty cool.
So yeah, all-in-all I am really excited about this sequel. In a season full of big sequels like Fall 2023, I am sure that will go unnoticed by many people. But please, I don’t sleep on the Faraway Paladin. It is way better than it has any right to be and I like it that way.
