-Spoilers Ahead- If you are a manga or anime lover, then Demon Slayer shouldn’t be a strange title for you. The manga series which began in February 2016 has gained the love of manga fans all over the world. The anime adaptation premiered in April 2019. And fans how grown to love the story even more. This series is definitely one of the most followed in recent times. Boasting sales of over 40 million copies. If you have followed the series closely, then you are certainly aware that the manga is nearing its climax. Because the protagonist has achieved his primary goals. Tanjiro Kamado has succeeded in turning his sister Nezuko back into a human. So, we expect that Kimetsu no Yaiba will be reaching its concluding stage in the upcoming chapters.
DEMON SLAYER SYNOPSIS
The Kimetsu no Yaiba story follows Tanjiro Kamado. A kind-hearted and simple boy who lives with his family in the mountains. Tanjiro is the man of his family as his father is late. He helps his mother with fending for his siblings and lives a relatively quiet and uneventful life. Tanjiro’s life takes a sharp turn the day he returns home from selling charcoal. He discovered that is family has been attacked and slaughtered. Tanjiro also finds that his sister has been turned into a bloodthirsty demon by a demon Muzan Kibutsuji.
Rather than kill her brother as new demons do due to their uncontrollable bloodlust. His sister, Nezuko still retains her human emotions to her brother’s surprise. After brother and sister both encounter a Giyu Tomioka, a high-level demon slayer who spares Nezuko’s life. Tanjiro is allowed to become a demon slayer. He then begins a journey to turn his sister back to human and avenge his dead family.

Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado is the main protagonist of the Kimetsu no Yaiba series. He is a young man that sets out on a quest to help his younger sister Nezuko become human again and also avenge his dead family. Tanjiro plans to achieve this by slaying the demon that killed his family. He is kind-hearted and determined. Tanjiro shows how relentless he is throughout the series as he tries to master new techniques. And also grow mentally as he progresses through his quest.
The innate ability to show empathy is one of Tanjiro’s virtues. He displays this trait all through the series as he is seen empathizing with even demons. Tanjiro always strives to protect everyone he holds dear. He is also very resourceful as he possesses a highly advanced sense of smell, immense speed, and considerable strength.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado. Muzan Kibutsuji turns her into a demon at the beginning of the series. Despite becoming a demon, Nezuko refuses to consume humans and continues to protect her brother Tanjiro.
As a demon, Nezuko possesses advanced fighting skills. She also possesses some human emotion as she cries and smiles when sad and happy.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu, is a demon slayer and Tanjiro Kamado’s companion. He is a young man that joins Tanjiro on his journey as a demon slayer. Zenitsu is generally seen as a cowardly character. Because he constantly complains about his bad luck in life which includes becoming a demon slayer. Zenitsu possesses very low self-esteem and considers himself a liability to his friends. Most times, he fails to acknowledge his strength and runs away at the slightest sign of danger. However, he is resilient and strives to grow as a person and a demon slayer throughout the series.
Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke is a demon slayer that encounters Tanjiro Kamado and becomes friends with Tanjiro and Zenitsu. He is short-tempered and constantly tries to prove he is the strongest fighter in any scenario. Inosuke is quick to jump into danger and tends to overestimate his fighting abilities. As a demon slayer, Inosuke possesses an enhanced touch sense and is very effective in hand to hand combat.
Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka is a demon slayer and a very high level one at that. He holds the rank of Hashira. Which means that he is a part of the nine most powerful demon slayers in the demon slayer corps. Giyu is usually seen to give off a very serious vibe and he doesn’t usually say much. Despite this, he allowed Nezuko to live and directed Tanjiro on how to become a demon slayer. He is one of the best demon slayers and possesses skills good enough to rival the highest level demons.
Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao is a demon slayer. She was raised by the insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho to succeed her as the next Hashira. Kanao is highly skilled and is an effective fighter. But she lacks the ability to act on her own most of the time. This is largely due to her abusive background. She had to close off her emotions to survive. She encounters Tanjiro, who encourages her to rely on her intuition instead of depending on others for instructions.
Muzan Kibutsuji
Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of Demon Slayer. He is responsible for turning Nezuko into a demo and also for killing Tanjiro’s entire family. Using his blood, Muzan can easily turn a human into a demon. He can also take the form of any other human. Muzan does this as a form of disguise. He shows his skill time and time again, killing demon slayers who come after him.
DEMON SLAYER( KIMETSU NO YAIBA) RELEVANT NEWS
To say that the first season of the Demon Slayer anime was a hit would be an understatement. The manga was a huge success and it definitely opened up the way for a very successful anime. If you want more, the second season of Demon Slayer anime promises to be even more exciting. It will be released on October 16th, 2020. The next arc of Demon Slayer will be a movie titled Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Train Arc.
Sadly, manga fans would have to wait an extra week for the Demon Slayer chapter 204. It comes out next week.
