So I believe I have covered all the important news I could think of for now and it is the calm before AoT comes back so this is the perfect opportunity. Perfect opportunity for what you ask? Well, to talk about the new Demon Slayer of course. The new Demon Slayer is every bit worth the hype and wait.
It is a bit too late for a first impressions article and too early for a review but, we wanted to talk about this anime anyway so well, we came up with this. Demon Slayer Entertainment District arc easily deserves its own article and these are my initial views on this awesome anime. There are no spoilers ahead so let’s dive right in.
The plot is straightforward as always. The Entertainment District arc sees Tanjiro and friends helping out the Sound Hashira, Tengen to snuff out a demon from the titular Entertainment District. Tengen is no Rengoku but, he is awesome. I will talk about him in more detail in the next section. Demon Slayer truly brings out its fangs starting later this arc though, so look forward to that.
As far as the setting is concerned, I like this setting much more than Season 1 and the Mugen Train arc. This setting really allows UFOTable to show off its amazing animations. Aside from that, the setting of Entertainment District really opens up a lot of possibilities for Demon Slayer. The arc uses them really well too as you may have started to notice already.
We all know Tanjiro and his friends so I won’t talk about them for now. Instead, I’d like to talk more about the Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen. While I know Tengen will never be as famous as Rengoku but, he is still a very awesome character. He deeply cares about his wives and he has a quirky personality. He may not have the leadership charisma of Rengoku but, he does live up to his Hashira title. He is a great character in my opinion.
Animations and Soundtracks
Do I need to even comment here? It’s Demon Slayer guys, it’s UFOTable!! Of course, they went ham with the animations. As I said earlier, this setting of the Entertainment District really allows UFOTable to flex their amazing animations on us. In particular, the light effects are of note here. As always, most of the stuff in Demon Slayer happens in the night so the glow of lights from the Entertainment District is a spectacle.
The soundtracks are really good as well. Demon Slayer went once again with one of my favorite artists for the opening and ending themes, Aimer. I have been a long-term fan of Aimer and I love their work and as always they did not disappoint at all with both the songs.
My initial scores for the Demon Slayer Entertainment District arc are:
- Plot – 8/10
- Characters – 8/10
- Animations – 10/10
- Soundtracks – 9/10
- Enjoyment – 9/10
- Overall – 9/10
Well, that is it for now. Let me know what you think so far of the new Demon Slayer down in the comments. Stay tuned for more content and yeah, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
