Key takeaways from my Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 review:
- Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 is an amazing season that surpasses previous seasons in terms of plot, character development, and action.
- The season focuses on Yosano-sensei and Rampo, as well as a cast of amazing bad guys and returning fan favorites.
- The animation style is amazing, the soundtracks are great, and the overall enjoyment of the season is very high.
Alright so Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 just finished airing and man, it was a banger of a season. I honestly did not expect this season to go so hard. But it did and it was amazing. And that ending was so perfect too, they really did leave us on a big cliffhanger. Good thing, the sequel is coming out soon.
So welcome back to another one of my reviews. Today I will be talking about Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4. I honestly think this might be my favorite season of the series so far. I thought seasons 2 and 3 were hard to bear but, the show somehow got even better. So yeah, let’s talk about it today.
Plot
I won’t spoil too much of the plot here because the less you know about this anime, the more you will enjoy it. But as with almost all seasons, we begin with a flashback. This time, the flashback focuses on the relationship between Rampo and the chief, Fukuzawa. The flashback gives us some much-needed background for Rampo and it is a pretty cool story.
The rest of the story focuses on getting the Agency out of trouble after some stuff happens. I won’t spoil this part of the story of course. But in my opinion, the story content of this arc gives Season 3 a run for its money. The balance this arc found between suspense, crazy twists, and raw action really hit the spot for me.
Characters
I have always loved the unique method of character development Bungou Stray Dogs adapts. There is no single protagonist in BSD, the protagonist changes based on the arc we are talking about. Which really helps in expanding on the characters; providing them with more opportunities to grow.
This season focuses a lot on Yosano-sensei and Rampo but, other characters like Kunikida also get important character development. We also have a whole slew of amazing bad guys like Nikolai as well as returning fan favorites like Chuuya and Francis. Amazing cast overall, and pair really nicely with the plot.
Animations and Soundtracks
Studio Bones went hard on Bungou Stray Dogs Seaosn 4. I love the art style of the series, it is always amazing. And the soundtracks in this season are something else. Both the opening and ending theme songs are awesome. The BGM could’ve been better but, you know I can look over that much.
Conclusion
Here are my final scores for Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4:
- Plot – 9/10
- Characters – 9/10
- Animations – 8/10
- Soundtracks – 8/10
- Enjoyment – 9/10
- Overall – 9/10
So yeah, as I said, probably my favorite Bungou Stray Dogs season so far. Really excited about season 5 and I cannot wait to see how this arc will conclude. As always, this is all my personal opinion. So please let me know what you guys think in the comments. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
