So you wanted something like K-On! but nothing really touched that spot for you? Do you miss K-On and wish that we got more of it? Well, if that is the case, Bocchi the Rock got you covered! This anime has been the talk of the community recently and being a content creator, I had to check it out. And as expected, this anime brought back all the nostalgia from the K-On days.
So welcome to another “Put This on Your Radar” article. Unlike my usual ones where I talk about upcoming anime, this time I am talking about an already airing anime. But still, Bocchi the Rock is more than worth watching and I am here to discuss why. So let’s get started right away!

Bocchi is seriously adorable though!
What you need to know about the anime
Well, we are already 8 episodes in so of course I will have a detailed review coming up soon. For now, though, we are only here to talk about the anime for fun. So Bocchi the Rock is made by CloweWorks. It is based on the manga of the same name by Hamaji Aki. It is a comedy SOL anime about a music club and stuff. Also, I love the fact that they went with rock for this anime. K-On had elements of rock but this is pure rock and I love it.
The story is pretty standard. Bocchi is a lonely girl, in fact, her name Hitori “Bocchi” literally means alone. She wants to make friends and play guitar in public but doesn’t really have the confidence to do so. She is one day found out by the leader of the school band, Nijika who invites Bocchi to join their band and the story goes on from there.
What do I Think of Bocchi the Rock so far?
So what do I like about this anime despite the standard plot you may ask? It is the wholesome fun feeling K-On gave me, that is what I like about Bocchi the Rock as well. It is hard to describe but both of these anime really make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Bocchi is very different from K-On but it carries the same essence and that is important. Yes, this is more of a personal thing but, I am not reviewing the anime right now so it’s perfectly fine.
Now even putting my nostalgia aside, Bocchi the Rock on its own is also just amazing. Why? Because of the characters. Despite the simple setup, this anime has some really good characters. And the character interactions are also really well done. Especially with Bocchi, I love how her character grows slowly but surely throughout the series.

caption this!
Conclusion
As things stand, I’d easily give Bocchi the Rock a solid 9/10.ย Let me know what you guys think about it in the comments though. This anime hit all the right spots right when I needed it to, so I may be slightly biased but I assure you, you won’t regret watching this anime. I will take my leave here though, it is late and I am sleepy. See ya!
