Ok, guys, admit it, the latest episode was fire. Both literally and figuratively. Old man Yamamoto went hard and the direction and the animations were phenomenal. We Bleach fans have been waiting for this moment for years now and the Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen anime delivers it perfectly. I was hyped for this anime since the beginning but this episode just blew me away. It was amazing.
So welcome back to another one of my mid-season reviews! Today we are talking about Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen or TYBW arc, whichever you prefer. And yes, it is a mid-season review since it is confirmed that this “season” will only have 13 episodes. The whole arc will be split into multiple seasons, understandably so. But, let’s talk about Bleach today man, I am really excited.
What do I think of the anime so far?
Things seem shady the moment Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen starts right? Hollows have been “disappearing”, lots of people in Rukongai go missing with footsteps leading nowhere, Hueco Mundo in a pinch. The Bleach veterans would’ve already known at the first point who was behind all this. There’s only a certain group of people who can actually “kill” hollows right? The quincies.
The Soul Society in their ever-growing arrogance is caught completely unprepared by the quincies and they drive everyone to the fence. Then Old Man Yamamoto walks out of his office, angry as hell. He burns every single enemy he encounters on his way. Huge walls of flames everywhere and it is a sight to behold. It was one of the best episodes I have seen this season.
Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen absolutely delivers and I’d say it is way better than I expected it to be. And I am very thankful for that. If you like Bleach there is no way you won’t enjoy this. I really wish they put this much effort into the original anime as well but, man I am so glad to finally see this arc in animation. Putting the last few chapters aside, this arc was really really good and I cannot wait to see more of it.
Oh, and before I forget, the opening and ending themes of Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen are really amazing as well. Bleach always had a good taste for openings and I am glad to see that it continues in that direction. As things stand right now, I give this anime a mighty 9/10. Granted I am a little biased because I like Bleach. But man come on, can you really blame me for enjoying this season? It is just so damn good.
Conclusion
Well, that is enough Bleach fanboying for one article. In all seriousness though, Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen has been much better than any of us probably expected and that is reflected in its rank on MAL. It will probably come down after a while but, it just goes to show how much people are enjoying this season. With that said though, I will take my leave here. I have more stuff to work on. See ya!!
