- While the article author has some concerns about Liden Films’ inconsistent work and the first-time director, they are still excited about the upcoming Atelier Ryza anime and its potential to adapt the game’s story into a good anime.
Atelier Ryza is a famous video game series by Gust and Koei Tecmo games. These RPGs are famous for their unique alchemy system and how the game revolves around it. They had this big live stream in March if I recall correctly and out of nowhere, they announced an anime adaptation for the series.
I covered Atelier Ryza anime back when it was announced but that was a while ago. We recently got a bunch of updates on the anime too including a release date so it is a good time to talk about it.
So welcome back to another one of my news articles. And today, let’s talk about Atelier Ryza Anime. Quite a bit of juicy news to cover so let’s get on with it!
What do we know about Atelier Ryza anime?
The anime will be made by Liden Films and directed by Emma Yuzuriha, who is a first-time director or the name may even be a pseudonym. Either way, all the voice cast from the games will be reprising their roles. Also, we have a pretty talented art director, Teru Sekiguchi, the person who worked on Made in Abyss.
J-pop group Sangastsu no Phantasi will be performing the opening theme, Golden Ray. The anime will be released on 2nd July, which is the Summer 2023 season. Of course, the anime will be adapting the first game, Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout. We got a new promo and a new key visual along with all this new info. That about sums up all the new info we got so let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Atelier Ryza anime has got decent staff and the VAs from the game are returning. What could go wrong, right? Well, I have a few concerns. First off, it is Liden Films. Liden Filsa is known for its inconsistent work. And secondly, it’s the issue of the director. Pseudonym or not, they have no previous work to use as a metric in comparison. Hopefully, these issues will become minor nitpicks when the anime starts airing.
Because other than those two issues, this anime looks pretty good to me so far. Even the PV they released is pretty good. The story of the gams is more than good enough to be adapted into some really good animes if Liden Films puts in the necessary work.
Conclusion
So yeah, that is all for now. I am fairly excited about the Atelier Ryza anime. Yes, I do have my concerns but that does not make me any less excited. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
