Arifureta Gets a 2nd Season!
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou was a summer 2019 anime. It is your generic isekai anime with a revenge plot and an overpowered protagonist. It has all clichés you can ever imagine in an isekai anime but it is still somehow entertaining.
Arifureta has very little world-building and character development but, the anime is fun because of its fight and its unintentional comedy. So let’s get started.
1. What do we know about Arifureta 2?
Arifureta 2 was announced on Overlap Bunko’s 8th anniversary. Overlap is the magazine in which Arifureta light novel is published. The anime is set to air sometime in January 2022. They revealed a PV and the cast and staff of the anime. The cast and staff remain the same for the most part but a few new members are joining the cast to portray new characters of course.
The plot will follow where season 1 left off. It will follow Hajime continuing his journey acquiring new powers and harem members and all that usual stuff. The same studio, Asread will make the season 2 anime as well.
Hmm…. I really don’t know what to expect from Arifureta season 2. It will be the same length as season 1 meaning 1 cour. Arifureta is the type of anime you do not expect much from. You just go with the flow of the anime. The story quality probably won’t improve and stay as it is which is fine because no one who likes Arifureta watches it for the story. The amount of fan service probably may increase. One thing is for certain, Hajime will grow exponentially stronger in this season as well. That is how it goes with this sort of anime. We want to see the extent of how strong the protagonist can and will grow.
As far as the characters go, I doubt there will be any significant growth to the existing characters. Pretty sure they will stay the same but, will grow more powerful regardless for sure. As for newer characters, I believe there will be 2 new characters judging from the new names in the cast. If more harem members are added, you can expect them to be stereotype waifu materials. I am really curious about how the story will end though. Hajime has a rare goal that not many isekai protagonists share of finding a way to return to his world instead of looking to stay in the new one.
Right, so that is all I have for now. You can watch the Arifureta 2 PV here. I really hope that they adapt the light novel in a better way than the first season. The characters are a little more developed in the light novel than in the anime. Well, let me know down in the comments what you think of Arifureta season 2 and what you are your expectations of it. As usual, do not forget to check my other articles and the awesome art section of our website. With that being said, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
