I checked this anime purely out of curiosity and man, I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, this anime is just as goofy as it looks and it pulls no stops. This has to be one of the best parody anime I have seen. It is really short too so you can check it out anytime you want. Yes, this week we are talking about Isekai Quartet.
So welcome back to another edition of our anime recommendation series! This week, we are talking about Isekai Quartet. This is a very fun and wholesome anime. One of the very rare collab anime too. So let’s get started on the details!
Introduction
Isekai Quartet is an original anime, it is kind of a collab parody project between multiple isekai anime. These include Overlord, KonoSuba, Re: Zero, Youjo Senki, and Shield Hero so far. It has 2 seasons of 12 episodes each but the episodes are only 12-13 minutes long instead of the usual 24 minutes; so it is essentially 12 episodes long.
Isekai Quartet does have a confirmed season 3 but we don’t know when it will come out. But, we are getting a movie sometime this year. It has this really cute chibi art style and it is made by Studio PuYUKAI. I don’t know if the studio has done any other works but, they did a damn fine job on Isekai Quartet for sure.
Plot
Isekai Quartet has a pretty simple and straightforward plot. Some important characters from different isekai anime like KonoSuba, Re: Zero, Overlord, and Youjo Senki are drawn into another world. Where they are forced to attend a school like normal people by their “superiors” to learn the truth of this world.
This simple plot makes a lot of room for the goofiness about to go down. There is all sorts of funny stuff in Isekai Quartet; seeing all these powerful characters behave as normal children in school is pretty interesting. The teachers of the school also like to throw all sorts of curveballs at the students and this really keeps the anime fresh and entertaining.
Characters
If you liked the characters in their original series, you will like them in Isekai Quartet. This anime does a good job of not straying away too far from the original character writing. It manages to be funny without sacrificing any of the character’s original personalities and that is a pretty big achievement.
Animations and Soundtracks
I love the art style of Isekai Quartet. It is adorable. This anime manages to make even intimidating characters like Ainz look cute somehow. Studio PuYUKAI did a great job in making the characters models. The animations themselves aren’t that high quality but, it is a comedy anime so that is to be expected. The soundtracks aren’t that noticeable but both the opening and ending themes are awesome and really cute.
