Key takeaways from Am I Actually the Strongest news:
- “Am I Actually the Strongest” is an upcoming isekai anime based on a light novel, set to release in the Summer of 2023. I am intrigued by the story of an MC who was abandoned by their parents but grows up to become strong.
- The anime follows the typical isekai plot with an overpowered protagonist. It is produced by Staple Entertainment.
- Despite being a predictable isekai, I am interested in the series due to my love for the genre. I hope the writing is decent and that the show avoids excessive fan-service.
So, I think I have pointed out plenty of times that I have a soft spot for crappy isekais, right? It is just because I really like the genre and still manage to get some entertainment out of most of them lol. This anime is the textbook definition of a cookie-cutter isekai and I am still interested in it.
Am I Actually the Strongest is an upcoming isekai, which looks to have an interesting setting. I am not sure how well it’ll carry this setting but I am quite intrigued with it, to be honest.
So welcome back to another edition of Put This on Your Radar – the series where I discuss some of the upcoming anime that caught my eye. Today we are talking about Am I Actually the Strongest. So let’s get started.
What do we know about Am I Actually the Strongest?
The anime will be based on the LN of the same name by Sumimori Sai and Takashi Ai. The anime will be made by Staple Entertainment, which is a relatively new studio. They only have 4 anime under their name on MAL. Most notable is Vermeil in Gold, a pretty good rom-com from last year. This anime will be directed by Noaya Takashi, no notable credits for him either.
The story is about our MC getting abandoned by his parents because they thought he is weak. But guess what? He grows up to be really strong. Typical isekai plot. The anime is set to release in the Summer of 2023 season, that is, in the month of July. You can check out the PV for it, right here. The main cast will be starring Ayumu Murase, Shimizu Ayaka, and Tanezaki Atsumi.
What do I think?
I’ll be honest, I am well aware that this anime will be another cookie-cutter isekai. It is written all over the place and I can’t even find something redeeming in it. So why am I interested in it? Well, I don’t know, to be honest. As I said, I am just a fan of the genre and I am fine with acreage animes like this as long as they’re entertaining.
This looks entertaining. There is always something fun in seeing an MC wipe the floor with all those who stand in their way. Am I Actually the Strongest looks to be pretty much based around that fact. I just hope that the MC has somewhat decent writing and that the show is not too fan-service-heavy. A little bit here and there is fine but I just hope it is not too distracting.
Conclusion
So yeah, that about does it for now. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I know the opinions on this will be all over the place. But please, take this anime for what it is, and if it isn’t your vibe, that is perfectly fine too. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
